On their first date, Alison&#8217;s coworkers actually stalked the couple from a distance for her safety. It\u2019s a hilarious, messy, very &#8220;now&#8221; beginning. But when they stood together at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wedgewoodweddings.com\/alexanderhomestead?matchtype=e&amp;device=c&amp;utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_campaign={name}&amp;utm_term=alexander%20homestead%20wedgewood%20weddings&amp;hsa_cam=11618124935&amp;hsa_ad=743402136849&amp;hsa_acc=1860597723&amp;hsa_mt=e&amp;hsa_net=adwords&amp;hsa_ver=3&amp;hsa_src=g&amp;hsa_tgt=kwd-2411622868530&amp;hsa_grp=176786220945&amp;hsa_kw=alexander%20homestead%20wedgewood%20weddings&amp;gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=11618124935\">The Alexander Homestead in Charlotte<\/a>, all that digital noise fell away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When I sat down to edit this day, I found myself looking at the &#8220;clean&#8221; files and feeling like something was missing. The energy was there, but it felt too &#8220;new.&#8221; It didn&#8217;t feel like the storied, grit-filled memory that a wedding actually is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stripping Away the Digital Polish<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this gallery, I produced an Artist Cut. I went back to the raw files and stripped away the clinical digital perfection. The grain isn&#8217;t &#8220;noise&#8221;\u2014it\u2019s soul. In the &#8220;clean&#8221; version, it\u2019s a frozen moment. In the Artist Cut, the grain and the shifted tones make you feel the movement. It feels like a core memory that\u2019s slightly blurred at the edges, exactly how we remember the best nights of our lives.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why the Grit Matters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Life isn&#8217;t high-definition. It\u2019s messy, it\u2019s fast, and it\u2019s beautiful because it\u2019s fleeting. From coworkers hiding in the bushes on date one to the final dance in Charlotte, this story has teeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I will always provide the &#8220;clean&#8221; versions for the family albums, but the Artist Cut is for the couple. In the &#8220;clinical&#8221; version of this photo, you see a well-lit reception room. In this version, you see the soul. By leaning into heavy Kodak Tri-X grain and letting the blacks go deep, the distractions disappear.<br><br>All that\u2019s left is the honesty of the moment. If you want the Pinterest-perfect checklist, I\u2019m not your guy. The app is long gone, replaced by half-eaten cookies, wedding koozies, and physical photo strips you can hold in your hand.<br><br>I processed this &#8220;Artist Cut&#8221; to feel as tangible as those photo strips. Heavy grain, deep blacks, and a texture that feels like a slide from 1975. Digital is for the moment; the Artist Cut is for the legacy.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>If you\u2019re looking for a Pinterest-perfect checklist, I might not be your guy.
